Job Description :

Quest Group is currently seeking an IT Support Specialist in the Grand Rapids, MI -OR- Detroit, MI area.  This is an immediate permanent opportunity with one of our clients in the logistics industry.  The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting offices in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.  The IT Support Specialist will have primary IT support responsibilities for multiple locations within a geographic area.  The IT Support Specialist should have a minimum of 5 years of experience to technologies, including Windows and Linux desktop hardware and software, LAN/WAN infrastructure and mobile devices.




The IT Support Specialist position requires initiative, analytical skills and the ability to organize and perform multiple tasks efficiently.  The IT Support Specialist should possess strong customer care skills and the ability to develop and manage a collaborative relationship with their support area.  The IT Support Specialist position requires a high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information.  The IT Support Specialist position will allow professional growth and offer a great opportunity for the individual who is able to work independently and accurately.     


 


Responsibilities: 



  • User support Windows and Linux environment, providing assistance with Microsoft applications, internally developed applications, PC hardware, hardware, printers and mobile devices. 

  • Network support for small LAN, including cabling, TCP/IP, terminal server, printer setup, routers, firewalls, and other network communication equipment.

  • New PC setup and provide customer support migrating information to new system.  

  • Printing support to local and network printers, including cabling, network parameters, and printer maintenance.   

  • Coordinate training for all users.

  • Assist in the development of standards and procedures. 


 


Required Qualifications :

 



  • Bachelor of science in computer systems or related field 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in information systems in support of office technology and desktop support.

  • Strong analytical ability for problem resolution.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with many levels of management.

  • Good oral and written communications skills.

  • Strong teaming skills and self-motivated.

  • Must be able to perform a moderate level of travel.

  • User training and IT project exposure is helpful.  

  • Position will report to GMS IT Client Support Manager.
